Shelly Ewald and Kathy Barnes, Senior Partners at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald L.L.P. are also Adjunct Professors at George Mason University, teaching International Arbitration. In April 2019, they coached the GMU Law School Vis team for the 8th consecutive year in Vienna, Austria. Under Shelly and Kathy’s guidance, the team has twice progressed to the final 16 and once to the final 32 since they began competing at the Vis in 2012. The 26th Vis Moot is the largest arbitration competition in the world with a record number of 378 competing teams from 89 countries in 2019. GMU was among 46 U.S. teams that competed in Vienna this year.
